Ok, there is nothing new in this post because it has been mentioned before. But what's hopefully new is the reasons for my choice as the Best God Mode Gun of the Game.
Two factors are important to know how to evaluate a gun:
1. Common sense, and how does the gun perform & feel in your hand practically.
2. Theoretical and scientific understanding as to "why the gun works well with me".
FIRST PRIORITY: SKILL
- Aiming Skills.
- Mastering A Primary Gun.
- Tactics.
SECOND PRIORITY: BULLET HITTING ACCURACY
- Standing/Crouching Accuracy.
- Moving/Running Accuracy.
- Bullet Spread.
- Fire pattern.
THIRD PRIORITY: Rate Of Fire
- Automatic bullet projection speed.
FOURTH PRIORITY: POWER
- Damage done to enemy per bullet.
FIFTH PRIORITY: Maneuverability
- Gun's Weight & impact on movement speed.
- Reload Time.
I believe that Accuracy+Rate of Fire are more important than Power. It's easy to understand this if we compare the Scar-Light with the AK-47. The 2 players shoot at each other, but the scar-lighter moves right to left in fast movements in fast bursts and the AK47er is trying to focus the crosshair for a single/double shot to the chest without missing.
If the Scar-lighter misses a few shots, it's always OK.
1. S/he can move/hide quicker.
2. S/he can reload faster.
3. S/he does'nt wait a lot for the gun to calm down from recoil.
If the AK47er misses a few shots, it's NOT OK Because...
1. For every shot S/he misses, it gives more time to the enemy to keep draining HP.
2. S/he should wait until the recoil of the gun is 0 so he can start shooting again.
3. Reload time of high-powered guns takes time.
On the other hand don't forget that in very close-ranges the Scar-Lighter will usually not stand a chance against the AK-47er. But this was simply to explain why Accuracy+ROF is much more important than Power, and then another important factor comes in handy and it's called the Bullet Spread.
Bullet Spread is the distance between bullets fired until a full clip round is finished. The lower the spread of the bullets, the higher probability that the "remaining" bullets will also hit the target.
There are 2 types of Bullet Spread:
1. Vertical Spread (Any gun recoil will usually push the bullets vertically upwards at first).
2. Horizontal spread (After the first few shots the bullets will go either left or right).
As far as low bullet spread and high accuracy goes, the competition in this field will settle to the following guns:
- M4A1 (with all relatives)
- Scar-Light
- K2
- XM8
- Steyr AUG
- SG552
- QBZ-95
PS: Scoping in scoped-guns greatly lowers the spread (on the cost of decreasing the rate of fire).
Therefore if I had to choose a gun from the list, I would choose QBZ-95. Because in terms of it's high power it has a low spread, and it has a high rate of fire. But then we're missing something else... The Fire Pattern.
The combination of Vertical & Horizontal Bullet Spread of a gun constitutes the Fire Pattern. Choosing the right gun from this list will totally depend on fire pattern, because it will decide how many bullets will hit the target while standing, moving, or running.
Abbreviations:
Accuracy = ACC
Fire Pattern=FP
Rate of Fire=ROF
Bullet Spread=BSP
Maneauverability (Speed of movement & reload time)=MVB
Steyr AUG: As All Around Rifle
1. Superior Accuracy Per ROF
2. Low BSP while standing
3. Worst FP while moving
4. Lowest MVB in its category.
Scar-Light: As An All Around Rifle
1. Superior Accuracy Per MVB.
2. FP Inferior to K2 & M4A1.
3. ROF inferior to Steyr AUG & M4A1.
4. Better (lower) BSP than Steyr AUG.
M4A1: As An All Around Rifle
1. Second to Steyr AUG in Highest Accuracy Per ROF.
2. Lowest BSP.
3. FP Inferior to K2 but superior to Scar-Light.
4. Second to Scar-Light and quite Average MVB.
K2: As All An Around Rifle
1. Best FP per MVB (MVB is lower than M4A1 & Scar-Light due to reload time slightly longer).
2. Second to Scar-Light in Standing/Crouching Accuracy & ROF.
3. Equal BSP to Scar-Light & Inferior to M4A1 & Steyr AUG.
AK-47: As Powerful Rifles
1. Superior Damage Per Hit.
2. Highest BSP (that's bad news).
3. Very low MVB due to slow movement speed, but reload time makes it up a bit.
4. Bad FP but it might be superior to XM8 & definitely inferior to Scar-Heavy.
5. Normal ROF.
Scar-Heavy: As Powerful Rifles
1. Lowest BSP Per High-Powered Guns.
2. As a high-power gun, the first 2 bullets are spread superior to the AK-47 and inferior to the QBZ-95
3. After the first 2 bullets, the FP is superior to QBZ-95 due to being more vertical (note that vertical spread is great for headshooting).
4. Worst MVB in high-powered guns due to the slow reload time and slow movement.
XM8: As An SMG-Close Powerful Rifles
1. It has superior Accuracy Per ROF & Per MVB, especially in crouching mode.
2. Inferior Power Per ROF to QBZ-95.
3. Best MVB in its category.
4. Vertical BSP when standing is superior in it's cateogry.
5. FP & ROF Inferior to G36K
6. Inferior scope to M4A1-Custom, Steyr AUG & SG552.
QBZ-95: As SMG-Close Powerful Rifles
1. It has Superior Power Per ROF (Beats XM8 & G36K).
2. Below Average FP while moving.
3. Average MVB.
G36K: As SMG-Close Powerful Rifles
1. Superior ROF and unregrettable MP5 alternative.
2. Pretty good MVB.
3. Vertical BSP suitable for headshooting.
4. Very High BSP per distance.
5. Scope superior to XM8 and inferior to the rest.
This makes it easier to mention the God Mode [DAMAGE] Awards:
Headshooting is important because it is the fastest way to kill an enemy. The Golden Headshooter Award goes to: M4A1.
- Because it has the lowest bullet spread per accuracy and rate of fire. As for the fire pattern, it's still works for headshooting while moving.
The God Mode All Around Gun goes to M4A1:
1. Because at close range it dominates better than the rest of the guns due to it's unbeatable ROF & vertical BSP combo.
2. The FP while moving is not as good as the K2, but it still works better than Scar-light
3. Highest probabilty of headshooting due to lowest BSP.
4. The guns' maneauverability is not as its' superior Scar-light but it's still better than many others.
The only competitor of the M4A1 is the Scar-Light, but the M4A1 beats it with better fire-pattern on the move, increased rate of fire, and lower BSP. But if you need the highest MVB, get the Scar-light.
The mentioned guns are the ones I prefer the most that's why I didn't mention the rest of the guns. For your info, the most special feature of any gun listed is written in the first point. It will help you decide which gun you can use to maximize it's pros and minimize it's cons during game play.
However, mentioning the best all around gun has one advantage, which is to utilize the most of your Aiming skills. That is to say that a PRO AK-47er will even be more unbeatable with an M4A1. Challenging guns teach you to aim, whereas good all around guns makes you PWN.
It is as wise to choose any gun as far as you will try to utilize it's pros and minimize it's cons, but when you're in a situation when you must face the cons of a gun, it will force you to switch your weapon. And then your mind will be clear, and you will return to the PROs Standard, killer of Killers... the M4A1 family.
I hope this helps in your choices for BAG1, and if more EXP changed my mind, I'll let you know. As for BAG2, it's still under-experimentation but most probably it will be a high-powered gun or smg-close rifle.
Thanks,
